Hodgepodge offering...

Hey gang,
Finally uploaded some shots from my CF card today. My 6 year old son's friend came over the other day and while he was coming in our front door he was stung by a yellow jacket wasp. I looked that day but couldn't find the nest. This morning I found the nest...it was conveniently located in our front door wreath. Of course we needed to exterminate, but I wanted to take a family shot before the after-math This is only one of the rare occasions that I would kill an insect or a nest of insects.
Other shots are just random...enjoy.

#1 (I used a tripod and a 580EX off camera master and 430EX slave with stofen diffusers)

#3 (Cactus bloom...that a good idea putting pollen on the rear-end )

wow, I tried to take some macro's this weekend, but they didn't come out NEAR as sharp as these. Are you using a macro lens? Really nice pictures.

Thanks for the comments...I'm using a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens with my 30D. ISO 100, f/11, 1/200th.
