Newbie, in every sense
Hi all! I am a recent college grad just picking up photography; I have been using a point-and-shoot for a little over a year to liven up my blog, but have just recently acquired a dSLR (Canon XTi).
B&W/monochrome (not 100% sure on the distinction, though I'm sure I will learn soon) seems to be my calling, but I don't mind a bit of natural color here and there. Anyway, I'm happy to have found this place and I look forward to learning from it. See you around the forum! Brent |

Slight difference in monochrome over b&w. found it on wikipedia.org.
For an image, the term monochrome is usually taken to mean the same as black-and-white or, more likely, grayscale, but may also be used to refer to other combinations containing only tones of a single color, such as green-and-white or green-and-black. It may also refer to sepia displaying tones from light tan to dark brown or cyanotype (“blueprint”) images, and early photographic methods such as Ambrotype, Tintype and Daguerreotype, each of which may be used to produce a monochromatic image "Monochrome."
