Lightbulb portrait of my grandpa

haven't posted in a while. Actually, I haven't been taking as many photos as I used to... due to lack of inspiration to do anything. But today I felt like carrying my camera again and I had the chance to take a photo of my grandfather. I liked the result. It may not be perfect, but it really portrays so much of him in his -usual- expression...

Anyways, it would be good to hear some feedback.

he was outside... under a shade, but the light of the day was hitting the right angle to reflect on him, just a magic moment haha.

I've heard that the light in the eyes shows life, and I totally agree with that

Very nice. The crop might be a bit tight but the lighting and the expression are great.

This is a great shot. I think it shows spirit, character, and texture. Very good use of natural light.

There's lots of character in that shot and the natural light is just perfect. Black and white with this type of facial detail and texture is a great choice.

I agree that its a bit tight (I would like to see just a little more space on the left side of the picture) but it's a very nice photograph. The texture is great, and his eyes are spectacular.

However - and since no one mentioned this it might be just me - it seems a little on the soft side. Maybe slightly sharpening it would help?
