Exclamation Ashes and Snow

I stumbled by chance upon this great site. Check the absolutely wonderful shots. You need Flash Player though.

Amazing. Truly wonderful.
I'm thinking about ordering a book of some of that work now (they seem to have a bunch of stuff from that portfolio for sale on that site).

Ohhhh that elephant and those children .... ohhhh I want to buy those prints for my mum and MYSELF !

They're so beautiful they make me wanna cry !

These kinds of shots are the reason why I got into photography and the way I want to go with it.

I showed the photos to Josh and he has promptly ordered 3 of the 'Book 1' books and the 'girl and the elephant' poster ( the one where the girl is in the water and is holding a hand to her heart, resting her head on the elephant's head ).

The poster is for his brother, to hang in his newly bought but sparcely furnished house. A beautiful poster is a nice start

I love everything about the presentation of the books too !

One of the books is going to Josh's parents, one to my mum and one for us. The plan is to collect them all

Thanks Miti for posting this link. I've found a new inspiration !

CTV news here in Toronto just ran a segment on this artist and his 'Ashes and Snow' project. He spent about 10 years on this project and is a Canadian artist, who of which hasnt really been recognized as such in his homeland yet.

He was able to do this project for the 10 years it took because he had funding from wealthy people, or so they said.

I just find it a wonderful coincidence that the local news runs a story on him not long after it was posted ! I felt like saying to the tv "Miti found him FIRST, so nehhhh !"

Stuff like these makes me want to go hang myself.

Thanks for the much needed inspiration!

Do what I'm doing, I'm just gonna buy one at a time, every other paycheque until I have them all. Posters, books, dvds.

Well worth collecting. Can't wait to see what he comes out with next.

Let me know how they are as soon as you get one. How many pics, etc. I may have to do that.
