    B&H is closed!

Last night I ordered a spare battery and a flash card thru B&H online. It was at the last moment that I got their message saying that they are closed till the 10th of October due to Jewish holiday and that my order will be processed and shipped only after the 10th! I would not have placed an order if I knew about this. They have the holiday notice on their site now. It was not there while I was ordering it last night.

I have already emailed them saying that I want my order to be cancelled. Do you know if they would cancel my order? If NO is the answer, can I have the items returned?

You should be able to cancel the order up until the time it is shipped, so I don't think you'll have a problem. In my experience, they have been very good with customer service issues.

You could always try taking a look at our new sponsor (Freestyle Photographic Supplies) to see if they have what you're looking for!

There have been a lot of concerns posted about buy.com here lately. Quite a few people claim that they have placed orders on In-Stock items only to be told a few days later that they are not in stock and that delivery could take a couple of weeks.

Price looks good though, and although Kingston probably isn't the best out there, I doubt you'd have any problems with it.

Assuming the rebate is good anywhere, I'd suggest ordering from newegg.com. I think their before-rebate price is only a couple of dollars more than buy.com, but newegg has a much better reputation in my opinion.

Yeah, I was wondering about that brand, too. When I was pricing stuff on Newegg.com, I saw some CF cards by Kingston...and since I'm sure I'm gonna need a lot of memory for Joshua Tree, I'm gonna need to start looking NOW!

Yeah, my boyfriend SWEARS by newegg.com for all his electronic stuff. If he can't get it on newegg, he doesn't order online.

Thanks for warning me about buy. Yes, I have a heard a lot of good stuff about newegg.

I'm not particularily keen about Kingston. I mainly use Lexar and Sandisk. It was just the low price that caught my attention.

Lexar has this 1gig CF card with the 'Write Accelerator' feature. Can I use that particular card on the 10D? Does anyone know?

A good place to check for sales and rebates is TechBargains.com.

I've used a bunch of Kingston memory in computers without any problems.
Stay away from Buy.com.....that's from bitter experience on three occasions!

fwiw, b&h doesn't accept order cancels via email. They're kinda pissy about that. They seem to be pretty good about returns though.

I just placed my first order with newegg this past tuesday, should arrive tommorow. I was thought they were over-hyped. I'm happily being proven wrong every step of the way.
