Which do you use? Live view or View finder??

View Finder 99.9999999999999999% of the time.
LV for little video here and there. in LV, i find camera takes MUCH longer to focus and it isn't very comfortable holding it.

Viewfinder. With what I shoot, I only find Live View to be helpful if I were trying to shoot something up close but not physically able to get to it. For instance, if I'm out hiking and see a snake on a tree but it's behind a boardwalk railing, I could put the camera at arm's length and use Live View to frame the shot.

I only use Live View for when the focus is critical and I need to zoom the heck in and make sure it's perfect.

Viewfinder. I've actually never used live view except for trying it out/playing with it.

Viewfinder with a few exceptions like really low shots that don't require fast focus or overhead shots of the same, and obviously video.

When I was shopping for a DSLR it was a criteria...the D90 had it, so great. But I've used it maybe 3 times.

View finder 100%. I hope the whole LV trend fades away, but it won't. I sort of understand how people coming from P&S cameras would like it for the comfort factor. But when I moved up, it was like a day of feeling uncomfortable with the view finder, followed by an eternity of wondering how I ever used to stare at the back of my camera to take pictures. To me it's the difference between being an outside observer, and being in the scene. When looking through the VF, what the camera sees becomes your whole world. With LV, you see a small representation of of what camera sees, and you see the whole big world around you, which dwarfs your 3" LCD.

Go take a long shot... 200-400mm focal length... with a narrow depth of field, using a tripod. Use the viewfinder. Then take the same shot with Liveview zoomed in on your subject. Do your best with each one and then check the results... I'll bet the liveview shot is sharper.

Viewfinder unless doing macro. I have never tried it on my 600 f/4, but I will try it. Sounds interesting. I never paid much attention to live view until recently, but its been great for macro. I plan on trying it on my next senior session in January.

View finder only. I havent even used my LV since I had my camera. If I want percise focusing then I use a focusing screen. I didnt even use it on my old Coolpix 995 when I had it. Guess Im just one of those old fashioned types.

Viewfinder, and LV if the camera is in a spot where I can't get my eye on the viewfinder which is pretty much almost never.
