    Cheap external flash unit.

Hello, I was wondering what would be an okay external flash unit to get me started?

    Camera: Canon EOS 1100D

I'm looking to buy one around the 50$ Range if possible.

    Thanks!
    BBP

    vivitar 283hv

its just as powerful as high end flashes, but typically sells used for $50 or less.

It wont communicate with your camera, but it does have a fairly accurate flash meter for "semi auto" operation.

i just got 2 yn560's (which are around $70/each) and i am very satisfied with their performance. the 460 is just a smaller version, so i would suggest those. they are supposed to be pretty good based on what i read about em.
