No longer a newbie, moving up!
I am new and learning (I feel the need to let you know that) and i like most of them! I don't like how the arms are the main focus of number 8.

I think you did really really well, especially for this being your first time.
I generally really enjoy them. However the only thing that really bothers me is that in some of the pictures (#4,6,8,12,13) there's some noise and could be sharper. You can try to artificially fix that since there's is no going back now. And in number one I think it would be stronger if the man was in focus. But overall, pretty good job. :]

Not bad for your first live performance. They can be difficult due to the variety/levels of lighting and movement.
The focus seems to be on the instruments or mic in almost all of these shots. Most of the time its important to have the performers faces sharp. I do however like the shallow dof and focus point on #6. Good exception. I also like the emotion on #13 but not a fan of the crop.
Naturally a faster lens would greatly help shooting in such a low light environment.

#8 Had the most potential for me......Great angle, good crop and good moment.

They look pretty good for your first time shooting live bands.
1. I like the synth/keyboard, too bad he is on the laptop though. Synth players always have awesome poses and expressions.
2. Seems bland. No real emotion, he just has an empty gaze going on, looks like he is doing sound check.
3. I like the tone, but the head of the bass is distracting.
4. Not of a fan of the lighting in this one.
5. Sharp pic, good emotion, good framing.
6. DoF is interesting. Not sure if I like it or not, depends on the viewer I guess.
7. I like this shot. It looks artistic, but doesn't do much in regards to capturing the actual performance.
8. I really like the framing and tones in this one. Great capture!
9. Try to get the bottom of the base in frame next time, and maybe try a crop on this one?
10. Faster shutter will fix the blurry fingers. Not really sure what this picture is saying though.
11. I like this shot. Good framing
12. Crop the microphone out
13. Awesome shot, great emotion. Try cropping out the distractions on the left so the focus is directed more towards the vocalist.
Keep up the good work, hope these suggestions help.

Congratulations on your first live show! I think these images look great! The only thing that I could see being better, is the sharpness of a few of them... As stated above, a faster lens would help a lot. Great job and keep up the good work!

I am still getting over seeing "musicians". I thought when you said 'rock' show, I was going to see some quartz and magnetite! Nice shots though.
