    TRIPODS!

    I have one of these Amazon.com: SLIK PRO 700DX Professional Tripod with Panhead (615-315): Camera & Photo that I got as a gift! I did use it a little bit. I will let you have it for $60 plus shipping! Only thing is that, with a really heavy, long lens.. the QR on the head, canl allow movement when in portrait orientation. Would not be a problem for most beginners though.

    Also have two of these.. I have been meaning to get up on Ebay.... Amazon.com: Slik Sprint Pro II Tripod in Gun Metal With Quick Release Ball Head & Case: Electronics better for point and shoots.. but would handle a small body / small lens combo no problem. I used these as hiking tripods for a large Point and Shoot.. $45 each.. plus shipping.
