So you have about a grand into older hardware... have not said anything about the storage that is it it... or the OS... and you want to make $500.00 on it ? Wow.. I have been building PC's since the late 80's.. and never sold one for that kind of markup! I usually sell my used personal ones for a loss... because they are used, and the hardware is usually old or obsolete! Assuming you have a 1 T drive in it ($100) and a copy of windows 7 home ($100)... you still clear $300. Yea. I know I didn't include the cost of fancy little water cooling system... which only an "enthusiast" should have (not the average user) because they can be problematic.

now if you are running a trip of raptors in a raid 5, and have at least win7 pro on it.. that might help. But that isn't what I would call a high end video card, or a high end Mobo.. and 8 gbs of ram? For Video editing... NOT!

I just checked your profile.. and almost every post is a FOR SALE item (the rest are wanting to BUY something really cheap!). Is TPF like your own personal EBAY or something? Do you even own a camera... or take photos? As far as I can tell, you haven't posted any.... only FOR SALE stuff, or stuff you want to buy here to SELL somewhere else maybe?

You said you've been building PC's since the 80's, it seems like you're a little bit out of date with the systems clearly. Please find me a 1TB HDD right now for $100; I'd like to stock up considering the Thai floods have increased prices dramatically. As for the OS, this was built to dual boot into OSX and Windows 7. As far as water cooling goes, it is for the consumer, it is nothing short of that. You would maybe have problems if you were looking into a custom CPU and GPU loop with compression fittings, two rads, separate reservoirs and a pump, sure there would be more to go wrong but this is completely sealed in. The i7 2600k will increase it's clock speed when under load, for example batch rendering photos or rendering video.

What more do you want for video editing? I have a $3000 prosumer AVCHD encoded camcorder. AVCHD is one of the hardest forms of footage to edit because of the bit rate it is recorded in and the file sizes. The 8GB of DDR3 1600 RAM will do that for you, and you always have the option to expand to 32GB if you feel that 8GB isn't enough, which I assure you it will be enough. What is there to know about the graphics card? It can power two 1920 x 1080 monitors and if you get a display port adapter you can power a third, which is what I do and it cuts down edit times dramatically just by allowing more space for multi-tasking. Then you can always use the video card to reduce your render times or have even longer rendered ram previews by using Open GL or CL.

As you can see, you're getting an awesome deal on the system and if you feel you don't need a certain part in there I can by all means remove it and discount the price. Did you also notice that it said $1500 OBO? OBO is an acronym for OR BEST OFFER, which means I will take $1500 or the best offer I receive.

I can post some photos here, but as I take more sport oriented photos or portraits and I feel like that is the sort of thing that could invade someone’s privacy. I don't take a large amount of landscape or inanimate object photography but I could start to upload those and that would suffice.

I didn't mean to come of harsh in anyway, but don't come into my sale thread and talk me down when you are clearly misinformed.

When you built this system.. a year ago.. 1T drive were available for that. Now they have gone up.... at that time, Taiwan was not underwater.

I have built custom h2o rigs for people.. so don't start.

Most high end video editing workstations don't have a gaming card in them.. they have either FirePros or Quadro's.

So this system is more than adequate with the current card then. Like I said if $1500 shipped is too much I am open to offers and people can remove a part if they feel they don't need it. But the suggestion is to keep the 5770 or a card of it's caliber to aid in render times.

I'm with cgipson1, On a good day you might get $500 for it. You get no gpu acceleration from AMD (ATI) cards, that is only available with Nvidia cards with cuda cores. Officially with Adobe programs acceleration only works with the GTX570 and above but there are work arounds with the lesser GTX cards. The 5770 is a 2 year old gaming card and won't "max" anything other than Farmville.
I would keep the processor, RAM, & power supply, the rest of that stuff is dated.
Maybe you can find some sucker on craigs list?

You can max tons of things on a 5770. You can use open CL and GL on ATI cards through Adobe programs and use the graphics card to accelerate RAM previews. I think I know what I'm doing as I shoot video for a living; photography is just a hobby on the side. As far as the board, cooler and case being dated please explain to me why. All of these components are less than a year old and the P67 board released only last year. The case is one of the best proclaimed cases on the market, even with its age and the cooler is the better closed circuit cooler between any of the competitors including corsair.

You guys are misinformed and it's a shame that you feel the need to come into someone else's thread and bog them down on what you consider inaccuracies, when you yourself are making false accusations. I would promptly ask you two to please screw off.

When you are selling dated hardware (that will not perform as touted) for way too much money.. I feel the need to protect my innocent and possibly less informed brethren from being ripped off!

You never did respond to my question about why 99% of your posts are either selling something, or wanting someone to sell you something really cheap? (this is easily verified by checking his POST history in his profile!)

Excuse me? Who the hell do you think you are? You haven't contributed ONE worth while post on this forum since you joined and now you wanna tell off one of our most frequent posters?

The fact that you shoot sports and portraits is NOT an excuse to not post your photos here. Thats pretty much all I shoot and I post photos all the time. If you call posting them here for C&C an invasion of privacy, then surely so is taking them... Me thinks you're just scared to get butt-hurt when we tell you that your photos aren't as good as your friends and family who don't know jack #$% about photography have been telling you they are.

What's a real shame is that you came into OUR forum, and wasted OUR time with this BS scam of an ad, and then had the nerve (or just lack of intelligence) to tell one of our veteran members to screw off? I would highly suggest you find a new place to try to rip off un-suspecting people. Craiglist is a good bet. Lots of stupid "prfussunal fotografers" on there that will buy into your BS.

Post something worthwhile, or get out.

Here is a discussion about GPU acceleration with After Effects, there in NONE with either AMD or Nvidia cards with this software CreativeCOW

This is right from Sony showing the minimum requirements for GPU acceleration with Vegas Pro 11. The 5770 is the minimum card shown in requirements and they use a 6870 in their own example Vegas Pro 11 GPU acceleration

P67 is Behind the current chipset Z68 that will soon be replaced buy the Z77, Z75 and H77 series.
LGA 1155 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The i7 2600k is still a monster CPU though that will easily overclock to 4.2 or 4.5 Ghz, try raising your multiplier is the BIOS to 42 or 45.

Found some more "mistakes" as well. That case does not support USB3 or Firewire (1394a) CM 690 II Advanced - Cooler Master - Leading Provider of Computer Case | Cooler | Power Supply
    The motherboard does though.
