Need Advice Please - Nikon peeps
Hello -
looking at the D40x and the D80.
Previous film camera was the N50 (a great camera that still takes great photos- but the wife says I need to move on)
Annyway, I have the following lenses from my N50
1 Quantaray for NIKON AF LDO Macro (70-300)
2 Sigma 28-80 D
Anyone care to share their insight on recommending one camera over the other and will these lenses be compatible with either the D40x or the D80
Thank you Sincerely

No longer a newbie, moving up!
You might want to look at the Nikon d80, I think you will be able to use your current lenses with it. I have a d40x which I like but the auto focus feature only works with certain lenses made for it or that come with the camera.

Been spending a lot of time on here!
The D40X will only autofocus with AF-S and AF-I Nikon lenses or HSM Sigma lenses.
You might also want to check out the D50 cameras from Nikon. They are not available anymore, but you can find them on here in the Buy and Sell Section and on ebay, some of which are new or only a couple of months old. They are roughly 6 MP cameras (6.1 or 6.2) but they don't have the limitation the D40x has with regards to the lens choices you will have.
