Nikon peeps, lens recommendations

I am looking for a lense to fill the gap between my wide 11-16 and my 50-135

i thought about just picking up a kit lense 18-55 nikon but just wanted to hear some thoughts on the lenses your using in that range so i can get an idea of what else to keep an eye out for.

i am shooting a d200 btw.

Don't know what your budget is, but the Sigma 18-50 2.8 is a nice option if you don't want to put the money down for the Nikon.
