upgrade question?

I currently own a Nikon d40 with the 18-55mm & 55-200mm lenses. I love this little camera, but I am upgrading to the d90 with the 18-105mm lens. I just want to know if this is a huge upgrade in image quality, low light capabilities. Am I going to notice a big difference in these two cameras? Price wise its a big difference i know that. thanks for any help/advise!

I started with a D40 and it is a great little camera. I went to a tech school and took photography and then went to the D90 also.You wont be sorry. I recently took a trip to Ruby Falls which is a 100 plus ft waterfall in a cave. I had no tripod so I had to really crank up the iso to like 1800 or more and the pics turned out GREAT. Enjoy the upgrade.

Nope, you might not even notice the difference. Well, maybe the weight difference.
