    US winter photography

Hi all, I'm planning to travel to the US next week for 15 days. Will start with NYC as there's much to photograph. Any idea for where to go afterwards for nature scenery shooting such as national parks or states with nice landscapes?

    Thanks for advising

I would suggest going along the Mississippi river with a bypass into Chicago. In Winona, mn and lacrosse there are some beautiful places and still going farther there is red wing mn. If course my favorite now is starting in Duluth mn and going up along lake superior to the light houses and gooseberry falls up into grand marais.

If you head north out of the city, Adirondack park is about 5 or 6 hours drive and has a lot of beautiful scenery and some 4000ft+ (1200m) mountains. Also northwest of the city about 4 hours is the finger lakes region, which has a number of beautiful waterfall parks scattered throughout. I'd recommend the ones near Ithaca because it's a lovely town to stay in. An hour or two east of the city on long island are some great beaches as well.

will be hard in spots north and midwest due to winter, no leaves and brown farm fields! You may want to head south and find someplace with more color. Or find your way to the southwest / west coast / rockies where there are more connifers and snow. good luck!
