Looking for a lab - hand coloring
Hello there, this is my first post here as I am in a bind, thus far search engines have been no use.
I am looking for a lab who can print digital images in black and white. I realize that's easy to find, but I need someone who can print on a paper that can then be hand colored, using oils. We've tested canvas at Berry and Homer but the emulsion lifts off and can not be varnished. We've had samples from local printers and nothing seems to work.
We'd really like to find a rag or fiber based paper with some tooth that the ink will not lift off when painted.
Of course we have no issues with printing images in our wet darkroom that can then be hand colored, it's the digital files that are giving us trouble.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
