Thought I'd introduce myself to the group. I recently retired from the Marine Corps and decided to stay in Okinawa, Japan. I have been into photography for a long time and when I retired I spent a bit of money upgrading my gear as a little present to me. Between my new job and the rain it's been hard to get out and shoot much but I do what I can.

Originally a graphic artist, I made a conscious decision to apply myself to photography 2 years ago. From a humble point and shoot I moved on to film and digital SLR, TLR and now 4X5. I enjoy doing street mostly but I like everything about photography. Hope to learn even more here.

Hello all! My name is Brittany. I am a budding photographer. I've been taking photos for years- nature, family and my kids. Since having my kids I've become more interested in learning more about my camera and learning more about photography in general. I have a Nikon D3100 right now and the kit lens as of now. I've just started promoting my 'business' for photography and custom cards/invitations. I've slowly been teaching myself, by watching videos and tutorials, about how to take great photos and work with my settings but I'm still learning stuff, too. Hope to learn some things from everyone here and maybe even help someone else out. :)

Hey all. New aspiring photographer here from Upstate New York (Schenectady County). Been taking a lot of pictures on my phone recently and had a bit of experience in that past with my Dad's Nikon D80, D300, and my Stepmother's D60. About a month ago it hit me that I wanted something more and have been perusing the web for some good deals on a Nikon since, hopefully a D60, D80, or D3000/D3100 but on a low-ish budget ($250 for a single lens and body) that's kind of hard.. I'm a big fan of Military and Macro photography and hope to pursue in both. I have no intentions of being professional, just a hobbyist :lol:. Anyways, glad to be here and looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Hey everyone! My name is Michele and I am a photographer in Palm Beach, Florida. I found this site while perusing the interwebs and thought I would join. I love photography and everything related. I shoot portraits part time (boring desk job during the week) and am trying to expand my knowledge base. I think shooting nothing but people for a year has given me a bit of creative constipation. I want to start shooting for me.

I also wanted to test out the world of film photography. I purchased a Canon EOS A2 along with some color & b/w film which should be arriving by the end of the week. I feel there is a confidence that comes with shooting film. No chimping and redoing that shot you just screwed up. You have to get it right the first shot, not the 42nd. Definitely going to be picking brains about that since I have NO IDEA what I am getting into. I think the last time I touched a film camera was about 15 years ago when I purchased a disposable Kodak.

I might get paid to take portraits, but I am a novice at heart who is looking to learn anything and everything I possibly can. I hope to flood the forums with comments, questions and critique requests in the near future as well as make lots of new friends! I look forward to meeting all of you! ;)

I set down my camera for too long and now it feels like I'm starting completely new. Downloaded PSE11 last week after realizing that my serial # for PSE6 was so old it wouldn't even load anymore.

Very amateur photographer, I prefer to shoot old buildings and texture in nature, but am looking at playing with pinup as well. We'll just see where the camera leads me. ;) I live along Route 66, so I've got some good playground.

Well i´m Marcel Richard McGrand, 46 years old, have being involved in the photo stuff nearly for 20 years.
Nearly every weekend and other days when i have time for it you can find me outdoors taking some nice shots.
My interests are very wide, i love birds and the total nature for pictures but also city´s and buildings catch my attention a lot.
I hope to enjoy it here, and do be able to get some advice and give some also from time to time.

Hi, I'm Israel, I am 17 years old, new here and an amateur photographer. This is my first time on a photography forum and I came here to learn more things and also share. I rarely use my current camera for some odd reason but I hope these forums will inspire me to get out there and use it. The camera that I use is just a FujiFilm FinePix S2950 and In the future I plan on buying a better camera (suggestions for me would be nice). Hello, all. My name is Rudy, I'm 21 years of age, reside in southen Cali. I first came about photography in high school in Junior year I believe. Although it only lasted for two weeks till I was kicked out of the school, the interest stayed with me in the years coming. I soon went in blindly and bought a dslr not knowing a single them of them. Slowly as I wanted to learn how certain photos looked, mainly the DOF and Bokeh I started researching on the web and other articles where I eventually taught myself what I know now (which still is not much). Still learning new things to this point, but I'm glad to of found a suitable forum where I can possibly expand even more :D
