Hi everyone. Complete noob to the forums here, hoping this is the right section to post this.
A friend of mine recently acquired a huge lot of vintage camera gear from the widow of a shop owner. I have been helping him sort through the stuff trying to find out what is useable and what is worthless. In addition to the hundreds of items of which I have no idea their use or value, I came across these SOM Berthiot lenses with some strange threads on the end. I have spent a ton of time doing research and am completely stumped. Now, this may be a completely stupid question, but what type of mounts are these? Everything I have seen refers to either a C or D mount which this appears to be neither one of. Thanks for any advice, these lenses appear to be high quality and I would very much like to find out how to use them or at least what this mount fits into. :thumbup: :D
The lenses that come with it are an Ektar 50mm f/2 and a Steinheil München Macro-Quinar 1:2.8 f=100mm.

What is the value of these cameras (in fair shape) and does anyone have any history on these cameras? (Especially the East German one)

Hi all, I'm new to this site and after some advice,
I was given a Nikon f2 1976 camera while at uni by an ex press photographer, over 20 years ago. It's been gathering dust in a cupboard for years now and I've decided to sell it. It's not in great condition, dents and scratches and it needs a good clean inside. The shutter is still working. It's a plain prism and all black body. I've listed it as a restoration project and have been made an offer but not sure if it's a good price as can't find another example to compare it to on the internet.
Any advice much appreciated

Hey all, I've literally joined because of this camera. It works in spite of what happened to it, that I will explain after I show you these images. But suffice it to say, its got some fantastic mechanical feel to the controls because of it's age and its all steel construction. This camera may be my gateway into a more serious hobby when it comes to photography. I've instantly fallen in love with it. Better than my current camera which has auto-focus that I have to argue with all the time.

anyway, images

Initial condition

<a href="http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/attachments/collector-s-corner/43272d1366992755-garage-find-agfa-ambi-silette-initialcondition.jpg" title="Name: InitialCondition.jpg
After some cleaning up.

<a href="http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/attachments/collector-s-corner/43271d1366992755-garage-find-agfa-ambi-silette-cleanedupabit.jpg" title="Name: CleanedUpABit.jpg
So I've given it a slight clean. The problems here are as follows;

Sometime in it's life a battery leaked inside it. The plastic on the back and on one side of the fascia, you can probably see it, is ruined. There's likely dried acid inside the camera. So what I want to do is show this camera a little bit of love, clean it up and give it some light restoration. Make it look as nice as it once did, clean out all the gunk thats likely gathered inside it. I can't replace the black paint inside the camera that was corroded off by the battery acid. The electronics may be dirty. I want to give it a bit of a once over and make it look nice and also make sure it lasts a while. I like this camera, I want to use it regularly.

but overall its a nice little camera. Very solid little thing. May need some advice. I can't get the plastic off to give it a proper clean up, partly because its gone brittle and partly because the adhesive that hasn't been destroyed by the acid is immensely strong. I don't want to destroy it, if I do destroy it I want to replace it. but I need that off to get to the screws that allow me to get inside the camera properly.
