Question Slightly out of date film

I have some film (35mm kodak colour iso 200) and I was wondering if it'd be in alright condition if it was only 9 months out of date, having been stored in a dry place, but not refrigerated.

If it's usable, would quality degrade?

    thanks, Brychan

Probably OK, especially if it's just 'general' film (sold to the public in general). This film is expected to sit on store shelves, so it's more stable over time.

Pro film, on the other hand, is expected to be used sooner, so does degrade more noticeably when it's expired.

If you're not going to use it soon, I'd pop it into the freezer. Just remember to give it time to defrost are return to room temperature before taking it out of the packaging.
