Problems with Semi-Automatic Film Rewinding
Hi guys, we're both very new at photography and we could use some help haha XD. We-yes we- both have cameras and one of us is having problems. Morine, take the floor!
Morine: I have an automatic camera and I was taking pictures when it just rewound the film.
I know I still have frames left on the film, so I have no idea why it did this. The porblem is that the leader tab is inside the canister. Is there any way to get it out without exposing the film?
Thank you!

There is a little tool called a 35mm Film retriever

Thank you, but unfortunately we don't have that tool and don't have sufficient funds to buy it, or a camera store to buy it from. And we can't wait and buy one in the mail, because we kind of need the film now. But thanks.

Do you remember which frame it was on? If you retrieve the leader and put it back in the camera, you will have to advance it to the proper frame (I skip one too, to make sure there's no overlap). If you don't know what frame that was, you might have a few overlapping ones.
the only thing I could think of that would make it rewind early is if the film was stuck in the cartridge somehow. The tension would make it rewind. Maybe that roll got wet or something, and when it dried the film got stuck together...?
Has it done this before, or was it just this one time? If it was just a one time thing, I would think that there was something wrong with the film, not the camera.

Take it to Walmart or any other 1-hour photo place. When they develop the film, they extract the leader (instead of opening the cartridge).
They should be able to pull the leader back out for you (I would assume that they would do this for free).
