Film In A Roll (Ha. Ha. Ha)

Alright guys, so here's the thing.

I have joined a photography club at school, that works solely with film. All I've done up until now is all diigtal, and this basically gives me the excuse to get my ass into gear and do what every person that calls themselves even a hobbyshot should - Film. I don't have a film camera at all, and it's not required, in the sense that the runners of the show will bring a couple for us, but it is something I should look into if I find myself captivated by it as much as I am by photography.

So, with that said. I have no money. But I do have a birthday and christmas coming up a month apart, so let's say that I was feeling particularly....'requestful' of my family for some kind of combo gift. What entry-level-ish film cam would you recommend looking at in a 'reasonable' price range?

pentax MX.
Its a fully manual camera (IE only the light meter uses a battery) so you can get shutter speeds slower then 30 min. (trust me, its useful to be able to get 5 hour shutter speeds if you wana do star trails) I have my dads, which is 30 years old. It still works like a charm.
Pentax makes (or made for this style lens mount) pretty good glass, and the best part is you can find the camera body, plus 1-3 lenses (depending on who made them) on ebay for about 150.

Jump on over to ebay and just do a search for 35mm slr. You'll find a boat load of good cameras dor dirt cheap prices. I bought a nikon N-60 a while back there and I paid $16 bucks for it. It worked great and looked brand new. But definitley go for something simple so you can focus on making good photographs instead of messing with useless features. For 35mm you really just need a body that works accuratley and a good lens. Good luck.
