    Hey Mich, Keel is Ok; but what Leek ? wikipedia suggested something of onion family; so tears justified; but how kin? any local usage?

    Kin would be interchangeable with family where I've ever heard it. My kin could be siblings. Normally, it would refer to your own family, so it was sort of a spin on the word.

    Some places I know it would refer more to kinship, or friendship. But I really didn't put that much thought into, sorry if it confused you.
