A month or two ago I went to the Assiniboine Park Zoo here in Winnipeg to try to take pictures of one of the Indian peacocks they have there. They were all gone that day, or maybe just felt a bit camera-shy. Anyway, I went back yesterday, and three peacocks were soaking up the late afternoon sun. I stood in front of them for a good half hour with my camera ready, but none of them accepted to pose for me with their beautiful feathers "in bloom".

So, these are the best pics I was able to get (the first one being definitely my favourite).

I think 2 is my favorite, it seems like he's looking at the camera and you get a good view of his whole body. I'm not a fan of the cropping on 3. And if 4 had been on a nicer looking fence (like a wooden fence) it would have been even better but obviously you can't control the peacocks
