    Hi Andrea. I love the color of your cat's eyes. I can never get close enough to my cat to get good pictures.

    Animals and children are the two most difficult things to photograph. What you need is lots of patience, lots of film and lots of cunning.
    But for a 'begginer' it's a really nice shot. Try getting a little lower and get rid of that rug ( ) and if you make a small sound when you are just about to press the shutter the cat will usually look at the lens (kids do it too :-) )

    Don't just say nothing - say 'bokeh'!

    thanks for the advice, i realized afterwards that not only was the chair in the pic but also the cat had no ears

    That was going to be my only comment.....the ears got cropped out, and they are such important parts of kitty faces.

    It's nice when animals are looking at you directly, but I love the relaxed expression here. This would be a lovely informal moment, but for the missing ears. The eyes are beautiful!! I don't think that pattern on the rug detracts from the image at all.
