Out with the old, in with the new

Yesterday I got the Nikon D40 dslr which replaces my four year old Konica Minolta Dimage Z1. They share the same lense size, to my surprise. I was able to take the polarizing lense on my Z1 and put it on my D40. I'm excitied.

I really like the first shot. Incredibly detailed with pretty good framing.
Second shot has a ton of distracting elements in it, but the santa's colors contrast pretty well.
