    Barbed wire in the winter

On a fotowalk between xmas and new year, the temperature was around the melting point which freezed the rain on everthing. I like the combination of cold ice and the even not less icier "image" of barbed wire.

    Thx lot in advance!

The compositional problem is that it is a straight 90 degree angle shot creating straight fence lines across the image. Straight lines are considered less visually interesting than diagonal lines and create a flat more 2D, than 3D image.

I would have moved in even closer, and isolated a smaller area of the fence and shot on an angle.

I think it works. There is plenty of asymmetry inherent in the subject matter, so the rules about very regular compositions aren't as critical here. The diagonal elements in the background help as well. I wouldn't change a thing.

Nice... makes me want to find a barbed wire fence after some freezing rain.
