I spend too much of my life on TPF!
John, that is absolutely hilarious, but the way you framed the wrapper and water bottle is pure photographic genius. Gotta love a "protesters" with a sense of humor.
-
Terrific photo, you captured the scene and told the story through the photograph exceptionally well. Well spotted and framed.
Just another citizen of the universe.

i agree jon...he just does not give off that, "hey i am trying to get your attention" feel...i dont feel his pain...and he doesnt seem to really want my sympathy....great shot, there.....
love the wrappers...even if they are not his...its a hilarious picture...

Great shot Jon. I agree with John E. You really did manage to capture a story in a photograph. The wrappers, the water, and buddy is reading a paper, probably checkin out local restaurants. Very cool shot.

Been spending a lot of time on here!
That is really a great shot. My eyes were drawn right to the Subway wrappers and water. Very funny

Going out on a limb here, but couldn't a public trash can in a public park hold someone else's trash besides the person sitting closest?
Besides, we don't know why he's on a hunger strike, the sign only says to ask him...
I go on a hunger strike several times a week--usually because in the rush of getting us all out the door I've forgotten to pack a lunch.....
Just a little devil's advocate.

Thats a well captured shot! gotta love the surroundings that go with it
nice work as always

No longer a newbie, moving up!
well, there's now an extra (insert post views) people around the world who now wonder why he is on hunger strike - so despite the negative tone of the original post, if the object of his protest was to generate publicity, it has worked!!
-
his answer would likely be concerning an issue that his mommy can't cook.
can't say I feel for him, but cool shot Jon! always on the edge of controversy!

Controversy? JonMikal? Controversy would require a thought - he has none. He can't be serious long enough for controversy. Everything has a touch of humor to him.... I'm the controversial one. (He'll definitely agree with me on that!)

A very nicely prsented picture. Ernie

Excellent framing! But, is it wrong to laugh at him? I love the wrappers and bottle.
I would have gone up to him and said, "you know that sign, the one you're wearing which tells me to ask you why you're on a hunger strike? Well, if you'd have said please I would have asked. Bye".
