Pricing for JUST a print? (No mat)?

Hey Folks,

My standard pricing reflects what I charge for including the mat. What percentage of that would u charge for JUST the print itself, and nothing else?

70%? 80%? Thoughts?

Got a friend who wants a print, but without the mat.

Whatever the cost of the mat I actually consider it a give-away so the price of the print by itself would be the same. But I would make sure and explain the role of a mat in the life of a print and that I give no guarantee for the print's life if there is not an archival mat involved in its framing...

I would suggest that you not consider the cost of the mat, in the same way you likely don't consider the cost of the box you ship it in.

What you are selling is the image, everything else is immaterial.
