Need Pricing Advice- Shooting pictures for Blog

I will be shooting pictures for a blog that is working on their launch (so they are not well known or pulling in money yet). The assignment is to go out and find "fashionable/trendy" people and photograph them. Before the launch I need to have at least 50 released images (so they have a bank of images to pull from). From there I'd work at leisure providing them with at least 2-3 images a week.

I have no idea where to even start my price point. I'm thinking I would prefer to be paid hourly instead of per photo, so that along with my photos I'll be paid for my time even if during the time I was out searching I didn't get any photos. Any suggestions on hourly rates or would it make more sense to price per photo?

    Any suggestions are welcomed.

    Thanks

I'd definitely prefer to be paid hourly as well, but I have a hard time seeing any new starter business being able or willing to pay a photographer's hourly rate for what is basically 'spec' work. I wouldn't consider doing this for a penny less than $50/image, with the caveat that I maintained copyright and was free to use the images as well if I chose.

Thanks! I was thinking $50 per photo as well since they are just starting. Maintaining copyright is a must and I'll probably add something in about renegotiating as the business grows.
