SEO Help

Does anyone have any advice on SEO (search engine optimization)? I bought an e-book, and thought it was very helpful about utilizing key words, adding links, etc. . . but I am still having a challenge finding Pink Door when I do a general local search.

Does anyone have any tips?

That would take an entire book to answer that question. SEO is not just one or two things, it hundreds of things that are forever changing. Also, even if you have a site that is well SEO tuned, it will still take a while to get very far up on the list. New sites dont get crawled that much.
Basic tips;
Make sure your site is free of any HTML errors.
Keep your site fresh.
Upload a current sitemap XML
Put a lot of thought into your keywords and make certain that each keyword is used at least 5 times on every page.
Much more text than pictures

Thank you HughGuessWho. I think I could do a better job on use of keywords. I need to build a site map too - currently lacking.

To build sitemap, just submit your url here: Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps Generator

Also submit your url to each search engine like:
www.google.com/addurl.html and
Yahoo! Submit Your Site

use meta tags between the head tags of your HTML. For instance:
<head>
...
<meta name="keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2, keyword3, keyword4" />
...
</head>

Since this is wordpress, get the wordpress SEO plugin ... it helps to sharpen your eye on some SEO issues.

Of course you can do much more, but then it becomes a constant job.

Oh, and I think musik on webpages is annoying, in particular if it is that penetrating boring back beat sound. usually I close the page instantly if the speakers get noisy. Even for those potential clients who might like music on webpages generally, the probability that you will not hit their taste in music is rather large. Hence this is very risky.
