Hopefully this one is an improvement from my last attempt - I took your words and think I put them to good use.
I am the french fry in a box of onion rings.

I had my little SB-400 corded to my D90 and off to camera left at a 45* angle to the droplet landing zone.
Only edit to this is the crop, I thought about adding color but liked it as-is.

I agree with your choice not to add color. The near-B&W affect of the stainless steel sink and the faint prisming in spots really works. I find the non-splash surface bubbles a wee-bit distracting, though.

I agree completely, they are kind of annoying me but I just try to ignore them
