A Couple Random Shots From Work *C&C*

These are the first images that I've posted on this forum, asking for C&C. For some reason these items caught my attention as I was walking in to work this morning, and I had a little time to kill. So, I figured, "Hey, why not get a couple quick shots." Let me know what you guys think!

(I realize that I didn't need to use such a wide-open aperture since DOF wasn't a concern for this shot...But like I said, these were two QUICK shots!)

Maybe I'm the only one that finds this somewhat interesting. Understandable.

They are decent shots, but they make the viewer wonder what your point is. The composition on the first one is all on the right side, it doesn't balance.
The second one doesn't tell anything. It's just a no-smoking sign. There is nothing to make it interesting.
    Your exposures look great.

Don't get discouraged if you don't see answers right away... sometimes this is a slow spot and most of us are working at this point in the day. It's definitely more active in the evenings!

Yeah, not that interesting, but just thought I'd mention that there's a lot of barrel distortion in the second one, especially for a shot taken at a 35 mm focal length. This is correctable in PP.

Thanks for the responses...They are both appreciated. The second shot was kind of awkward, because I am about 6'1" and the sign was a good foot or so (at least) taller than I was. The red metal plates ran along the wall on both sides up to the sign...which is why the red "border" looks distorted. I was mainly just getting some practice with my new 35mm f/1.8. I will definitely be posting more quality shots in the future.
