Good news! I got my 40D today!
AND...I have a new shooting partner...my 6 year old, Ruby, also got a new camera in the shape of my old 400D (still in excellent shape!).

She was already pretty good with her mum's Canon IXUS...Ruby now says she'll join my camera club and enter the competitions and beat some of the old guys...now she has a "proper" camera!

Awesome!!! Better watch out old man--she'll be showing you up before you know it...you know how kids these days are so techno-savvy!!!
Six months hence: "Ruby honey, can you help Daddy convert these under-exposed RAW files properly? I'm afraid I've made a mess of them so far..."
"Move over daddy...let me at the mouse...run along now, you go and watch your stuffy old BBC show, and come back in a half hour and I'll have them done for you. Then you can make me some scones."

Six months? Ha...she's like that now! For a 6 year old she is as sharp as they come. She will bypass me in everything she does, I am sure of it. As for photography, she has only 2 years to catch me up (I got my first dSLR 2 years ago tomorrow)...she'll probably do that in a matter of weeks if she keeps being so keen.

You'd best be working on your scone-baking recipes and times and temperatures...
