I'm a lucky one for sure to have been there in person with enough forethought to have brought my camera to capture that fog-on-the-lake sunrise for future reference in case I start to think life is ugly and redundant.

I too think that the 1st sunrise picture is world's better then the other two. My reasons are pretty simple. For starters 1st look and it just blew me away. The sun burning through the fog with the various colors is eye capturing, while the fog coupled with it's dreary muted colors are still prevalent off to the sides. The foreground leads you to the dock off to side, and is an important element, yet doesn't compete with one's attention for the main subject; the sunrise.

In other words, I love it.

Your eye/brain is the difference between
a photograph and a picture, not the camera.
