My First Bird
Not the best but I worked hard. I took two sets of pictures of this group of birds. The first I couldnt get close enough to. The second set (same set of birds, 20 minutes later) I had a chance to get within 10 feet and they started to walk towards me.

Thanks for looking...

What do you guys think of the sharpness of the picture? Do you think that I have a pretty good lens here?
Thanks for the comments btw.

hey rebel..... you got the lens then
.... good shot.....
The lens itself isn't as sharp as the more expensive ones.... but i find it's good at a fairly close range..... anything thats a bit further i'll just add more sharpening in ps..... and i'd sharpen any bird pictures anyway.
If you have ps.... try the unsharp mask.... if you have a newer version you can try smart sharpen

I sure did. Thanks. So far I love it. Its not as sharp as I would have hoped but for the price I cant complain. Its odd that I say "for the price" since I threw 200 bucks down for it....but looking at lenses, this isnt bad. One day I hope to have a more expensive lens but for now, this will have to do

i find my shots vary in sharpness..... there are a few which i'v taken which have alot better results than others...... even without software help.... alot depends on the light and how steady the camera is when you fire the shutter.... even the slightest movement can sometimes detract from the sharpness.... you'll see the varying results the more you use it

I think it's quite crisp and the colors are great. Very nice shot!

Ive got another that I took today. Since I am horrible at naming birds I wont even try to come up with a name for another thread. So here goes...

Its not the best. I sharpened it up a bit in PS but I am still not 100% happy. I do like the bird though and it was the most interesting that I could find today.
Thanks for looking...
