    Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Well, I really went to visit the Grand Canyon, but I didn't really get any shots that I really liked...but I *did* like some of the shots I took in Las Vegas:

Man, I haven't been there for almost 9 years - we lived there when I was a kid! I miss it! Great shots.

Agreed. A little blown out on the buildings, but nice overall.

How can you go to the canyon and NOT get good shots?

"A little blown out on the buildings"

I hadn't even noticed that, thanks!

" How can you go to the canyon and NOT get good shots?"

I know, I know, the canyon was SPECTACULAR; however, we have three young kids, and most of the time was spent educating them on the canyon, the history, etc., and making sure that they didn't kill themselves. I had precious little time to just compose and shoot, and the shots that I did get didn't have the detail or contrast that I really wanted. As the kids get older, we'll spend much more time on each visit, and I'll be able to spend more time waiting for the best lighting (and maybe even get some shots riding the mules into the canyon, or from the Colorado River rapids).
