Hooded Crane (C)

A Hooded Crane taken in Edinburgh Zoo at the weekend. I've stuck "(C)" in the title as I wasn't sure of the rules for this particular forum and one of the nature photography forums I'm on requires you to differentiate between captive and wild animals.I don't shoot half as much as I should.

Yep, LP knows his birds...that's an African Crowned Crane alright.
I like how you chose to compose it. Nicely done.

Great idea about the (c) and (w). I think that should be the standard.

I love the color contrast on the neck. The red/white/black is superb. My only complaint in the entire photograph is that the feathers coming out the back of the head match that of the left background. I commented this on your polar bear photograph as well, that I would love to see more contrast in color be foreground and background.
Nevertheless, the colors exemplified in the foreground subject is great, and I appreciate the angle and depth of the shot.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the texture on the neck of the crane is great as well. Quite unique.Cameras:
