wet scans with medium format film

hi there,

i'm trying to do wet scans on my epson v700 of my medium format film and i am getting vertical banding. does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

i have cleaned the glass on top and bottom, tapped the edges of the scanner where the glass meets the plastic, put a few drops of the kami fluid mount, laid my clean negative down, applied a few more drops on top of the negative and laid the mylar down. it isn't the mylar because i rotated the mylar and rescanned. i believe there is something internal going on that is causing the vertical banding.

I've never done wet scanning ... but is the banding actually newton rings?

...Maybe you need more fluid...?


With normal (non-wet) scanning, you will get newton rings is the film is touching the glass.
