Goslings
There's a lake in the middle of the university where I work. Surprisingly they let me get within about 12 inches from their babies. I watched my step though as I didn't want to startle the youngens.

It's indeed surprising you got so close to the goslings...Canadian Geese around here are extremely protective of the little ones and will hiss/attack very readily. Of this series, I like that last one best

I was getting hissed at when I was within touching distance of them but I backed up slow and kept shooting. The thing with these particular geese is that so many people feed them that they're used to people being so close and rarely ever chase anyone away. They are actually more prone to walking away from you to avoid confrontation rather than chasing you away.
