    Eye of the Butterfly

I had to scabble over a bit of rubble to get this shot - each time I was nearly ready he would fly to the next post, I was so worried that he would get away without a decent shot. In the end this was the only shot I got of him - he flew off before I get could get a shot of the wings so I don't think there is much hope in identifying him.
Took a bit of work to get the very near low key effect to take and I am not sure if it worked - I think I might have gone a little too far (re the antennae).
Any comments/crits welcome - Thank you

    Taken with canon 400D, sigma 150mm f2.8 macro+1.4TC, speedlite 580M2 and softbox

F13, ISO 200, 1/160sec, manual mode, handheld, flash used with softbox

Butterflies, I love em. This has to be one of the uglier ones ive seen. I'd probably have to see the wings to judge though. Beautiful capture.

    Thanks Mark!
True - without the wings it very hard to workout what it was - a shame, but he did not stay around for longer - up and over the hedge he went!
