    I see what you find interesting but the composition doesn't isolate a subject and my eyes wander all over looking for a point of interest. It's too busy and white balance is too cool.

    ^^agreed. See all that blue stuff? That probably wasn't how it looked. Your perspective isn't very interesting either, looking down on it. That's the way we look at stuff on the ground, looking down. If you could get a more interesting and unique perspective, it would be more interesting.

    Actually, I was not looking down on it. It was almost at eye level. The stump was on the side of a vertical embankment adjacent to a walkway. The cut on the stump was made at a 45+degree angle, and the rest of the stump below the cut dropped straight down the embankment. I have other photos from another angle which show it's position on the embankment. The color of the stump was actually very close to the color in the photo. That is what drew me to it. I will try harder though. Just learning all this stuff and appreciate the C&C. Thanks!
