    2nd Butterfly set

Here's my 2nd Butterfly set. Needless to say, I got hooked on Butterflies as a new and fascinating subject. Just can't wait for my next outing.

    Thanks for stopping by.

Butterflies are fun! Especially closeups... they have the most lovely eyes!

Thanks Hopdaddy and Charlie for your thoughts. And yes, these little creatures are very addictive. I just got back from another shoot. This time it was indoors.

Thanks for your positive comments. These Butterfly sets were taken at Sweetbriar, which is a non-profit nature preserve located in Smithson (Suffolk county Long Island), New York

Joel, really think about the light. If you have shadows on the butterfly, forget about it. 1 & 2 I think have bad light. Dont be afraid to use flash.

Honestly, when I was taking these pictures, seeing shadows on the butterflies was nearly impossible, and I was concentrating on composition and focus. Will keep it in mind when I go back as I'm just a newbie when it comes to Butterflies.
