I have one on my D90 and I love it. Autofocus is quick, though a little noisy. Need a lot of light at 200mm since it's f/6.3 at that end, but it's great in the middle of the day. I can't compare it to the Nikon 18-200 or Sigma 18-250, but I'm impressed with what I've gotten from it. The zoom lock is a really neat feature that keeps the lens from sliding out while you're carrying it. For $300 if you're not going to be doing a lot of low light shooting, it's a really good lens.

Indoors at 200mm is going to be less than superb. Stage lights might seem bright, but nothing quite compares to the sun. If you want an 18-200 for the convenience, you're going to have to accept the fact that it's not as good as a dedicated telephoto. If money is a deciding factor for you, the Nikkor 55-300 is going to do a little better for you indoors.

That's all well and good. If you are convinced that you want an all-around, I can't do much to convince you otherwise. Don't expect good indoor low light performance from an 18-200 or 18-270 at the long end when you're stopped down to f/6.3.
