    Question need help making a decision.

    I have a Nikon D3100 witch uses the EN-EL14 batteries but, i recently lost my charger and now am scouring the web for an oem used one for cheap.
    1. my question is, is the oem one really necessary?
    2. will a 3Rd party one shorten the life of my batteries? (i ususaly notice that the 3rd party chargers only have 2 prongs where as the oem ones have 5.)
