    Leaving the Nikon D5100 on

The night of the day before yesterday I was importing some pictures into my computer before I went to sleep. I didn't use it at all yesterday, instead experimenting with my dad's old Rebel 2000. This morning, I decided to try to play around with some of the menu settings so I went into my camera bag and saw that the camera was in the "on" position and I think it was on about 36 hours or so. It wasn't particularly hot, and the battery life didn't seem to have changed much, so I'm guessing it's all right. Still, I'd like to know if this could have had any negative effects on the camera. I turned it off immediately and it's been sitting for a few hours. Excuse my paranoia, the camera a week old and I don't want to mess it up that quickly.

Yes Luke! Let Go of your Fear!...Fear is the Mind-Killer!

But all my cameras are always On. I never turn them off. As they have a auto-sleep mode which puts to sleep and doesn't drain the battery. Only issue leaving On and in a tight fitting bag and sides push on one of the buttons can drain a battery. Think it happened to me like twice in 5yrs. due to loose fitting in my bag.

But No worries as won't fry anything.
