Probably depends on where you live.
I think the age of consent in most states is 16. Some are as low as 14... Not sure what NJ is...
Not sure if that even matters if it's just pictures...
?
If you are old enough to consent to sex, I don't see why you wouldn't be old enough to consent to having nude pictures made.
I'm sure everyone will still say it's illegal though.
Ask a lawyer.
edit
Looks like it's 16 in New Jersey:

Still not sure if that even matters though...

True, but would any pics taken be considered child pornography?
Thanks

I think if you put them up for public viewing it would be, but I am not sure, might want to check into that before you did, same goes for editing or possessing them, once you hit 18, there might be issues of possessing under age pictures, even after she turns 18.

If you have to ask if its illegal, then it's probably not the best idea lol

Why ask on a photography forum? Ask on a legal forum.

Becuase im sure theres more people here who know about shooting nudes and surrounding topics then a bunch of lawyers. Plus, photographers are a bit nicer.
Its not like i have a shoot tommorow, or anything like that, just curious. I mean when 16 year old girls take pictures topless with there friends and send them around they get a detention and no child porn charges, but this is of course very different, but still around the same parameters age wise.
-
Detention? Whats that?
I would say thats different, if someone personally takes a picture of themselves and wants to let the world see it, I dont see how child porn charges could be filed against that person, but someone who possess's the said picture, could see those charges. But I agree, this is not the right place for this discussion, maybe elsewhere on the forum.
But whats the point of taking pictures if no one but yourself can see them? I would want to show my work off.

I say go for it as long as you send me the pictures via PM when you're done.

Make prints to show off not online.
But yeah this is way to complex to just sorta discuss.

How is that any different?
You are still in possession of underage photos.
How long until she is 18?
