I've heard many bad things about it, but finally ended up installing it on my compy at home just because the stupid auto-updater wouldn't shut up about it. Hasn't seemed to affect things one way or another.

it's not so bad. It's got some good things but it's still new enough for things to go wrong. It is Microsoft, so... you know.

I had to install it. I couldn't find SP1 and I can't have USB 2 without it... It's better when you install it on a fresh install which I did. I had no problems.

You can turn off XP's "mouthyness" by right clicking My Computer, click the Automatic Updates tab, trun off auto updates.

You gotta go to the list of your installed programs in the control panel, there should be something like "Service Pack", just click "uninstall" and you're done.
Hope that helps."Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme"
