Spend a few minutes on-line looking up some still-life oils by the old masters.

And if that don't work a macro lens + off camera flash cord + a few flies(or other household bugs) can prove great enterainment.

Failing that look up a local area of interest (for me its zoos, wildlife parks, bug houses) and plan a trip - then get yourself out the door and go. By legs, rail, wheel - there are many ways to get there if your not driving yourself
