Visit this side for a great read about color photography done in 1909 by Prokudin Gorski, a Russian photographer who set on recording color images of that year's Russia. The pictures are amazing, even after 100 years!

I wouldn't bet on the $0.12 prints from the local quicky print shop.

Archival prints on acid free paper and museum mounted so the acid free backing and mat can be changed after absorbing pollution from the atmosphere for a couple of decades will do the trick. Just be sure and bring money.
