    Tack sharp?

WTF is tack sharp? Why not just... sharp, or really sharp? If we have to use an object, how about razor sharp, or needle sharp? Tacks, in my experience aren't that sharp. The tip is usually bent anyway! I mean, look at that thing! DISGRACE!

Who came up with the term "tack sharp" and why did it stick? These are the things that keep me up at night!

    Thank you..

It's just blank sheets of sketching paper tacked to some foamboard.

Well, duh! You're not buying the GOOD tacks that are made for concrete walls. You're getting the cheesy cheapo ones make for cork.

sparky, I think you need to get that bellows out and show the OP what a high-quality sharp tack looks like!

Personally, most of MY "tack sharp" photos are very much like the OP's photo--I only THINK they're tack sharp, then I post them up here and everyone starts pointing out just how "bent" they are!

See, where I come from from what you have there is a "Drawing Pin" used to put posters on the wall and notes on cork boards etc. A "Tack" is one of those short, black, sharp as F**K nails with jagged points used in upholstery and shoemaking.

They hurt like HELL if you put your hand down on one!
