Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year in Vancouver is always a big event and I love it. The colours are deliberately loud, the crowd is amped and the dragons and lions are shiny, ready to strike.

I think I might post some snaps I took from this years Chineses New Year Parade, enjoy and toss out some tips for next year ...

Even though the third shot is overexposed, it's the most interesting of the group (imo). There is colourful background of flags, the traditional costumes of your main subjects and you get to see 'under the mask' (sorry if that sounds cheesy) with one of the dragon performers.

Looks like a fun day!

Cool! You've definitely got more in that album you should post up here. Really liked your composition on the 3 red lanterns, and that shot of the old man alone on the balcony looks really poignant in the series after the shots of the crowd. That compared to the (I think) 5th shot in the album with the older woman in the red hoodie just shows a whole range of moods in your shots. Nice work!
